WE’RE BAAAACK!
The last two days we logged in over 1,500 miles and hit 6 states, so this family is tired! I am looking forward to catching up with everybody ASAP. I will make a post to recap where our travels have taken us as soon as the weekend is over.
*My best friend is coming to town so I plan on acting a decade younger the next two days!
Last night was perfect and I’m glad Jude got to close out the Puget Sound leg of our trip how he started it. (Taken with Instagram at Hood Canal)
He’s so much bigger than the last time we were here, and it’s only been 7 months!
Yesterday we had a bit of cabin fever, so we went to explore the Theler Wetland Trails. There were all sorts of things a toddler would find interesting. He did get a little spooked by a totem pole, so we hung out on this bench for a while. Now he won’t stop talking about said totem pole.
This is ridiculous guys. You know when you’re not busy but you feel busy? It’s like I have fallen off the face of the earth. Between having painfully spotty cell service, no Internet, and being at my favorite place in the world, I am finding it nearly impossible to update this week. I am also anticipating little to no posting this weekend because it is going to be close to 90 degrees here. What? In Seattle? I know.
Anyway, I am on Instagram and that seems to be easier for me to keep up with. I would love to follow more of you so I know what’s happening with my tumblr peeps. My username is amccaw. Have a great weekend everyone!!
Oh, and the above picture is of the hubby and Jude on his first boat ride. We love the water!!
Live so that when your children think of fairness and integrity, they think of you.
Flashback Friday-
Jujitsu was all the rage when it came to early 90’s extracurricular activities. My brother and I were mortified about having this picture taken, but our mom saw to it that Yuen Lui froze this gem of a moment in time. I clearly didn’t make it past a yellow belt. That stance isn’t blocking anything.
Jude: Crab Hunter
I have been trying to get this kid in the water for the last week. It has been extremely unsuccessful, until today.
His new obsession is looking for crabs. There are hundreds of baby crabs roaming around the rocks and Jude decided to follow one right into the drink, fully clothed. That’s right people. The day I decide to stop putting his swim diapers/suit/water shoes on him is the day he gets the courage to walk right in. I guess when they’re ready, they’re ready.
Lots of sea creatures have been discovered the last few days, and this guy is loving every second. Jude looks so adorable when he quietly observes and studies new things. He has always been like this.
How have I been? I have turned into a ten year old. I am getting dirty digging for clams, diving into the freezing cold water just for fun, seeing what is creeping under giant rocks, oohing and awing crab fights/lovemaking, and trying to beat my record at skipping rocks. It feels pretty good.
I decided to participate in Razing Mayhem’s weekly photo challenge (her tumblr is mayhemandminions). This is more doable, and probably less annoying, than the daily photo challenge I did in May. This weeks subject is WATER.
So sorry I couldn’t provide links, but I am having to do all my posting on the phone because we have no Internet out here in the boonies. I barely have cell service. It is a great, and annoying problem to have.
This kid is jazzed about throwing rocks. I mean, seriously jazzed. Jude would do this all day if I let him.
He was showing me the “big rocks” and then told me to “move”, which means go away. When did he turn into a teenager?
Jude and I spent Friday morning wandering around Balboa Park before we hit up the Model Railroad Museum. He can’t get enough of that place.
Throwing rocks with Grandpa last night, just like I used to do.
Flashback Friday
We made it to the Puget Sound last night and were treated to a summer lightning storm (super rare and awesome). We are so happy to be back in this gorgeous part of the world. The above picture is one of my favorites of all time. I took it at the Theler Wetlands this winter, and it is what gave me the photography bug. I can’t wait to go back and get a similar picture of Jude now that he has grown so much. Happy Friday the 13th!
Day 15- Love
Love alone is capable of uniting living beings in such a way as to complete and fulfill them, for it alone takes them and joins them by what is deepest in themselves.
